Entering Unicode on a Windows machine

Under Windows just press the Alt key and the decimal code.

Apart from that, Microsoft Word has got another functionality to enter Unicode: just enter the hexadecimal code where you want to put it, i.e. write for instance 26A1, then place the cursor right behind it and enter Alt+X.It will produce the symbol for "hight voltage" ⚡.
